Doti-Producxionz is a new entertainment company, formed in 2002. It’s owned by Fanney Tsimong and Nhlanhla Ndaba which makes it a 100% South African Black owned company. Doti-Producxionz has completed various award-winning productions for the Vuka Awards and co-produced the annual Out In Africa Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and the Encounters Documentary Festival. Doti-Producxionz has produced and directed a number of short films – A page from my diary, Silenced, Mountain Shade - all of which have been screen at the out in Africa gay and lesbian film festival and has had the pleasure of showcasing one of our short films Silenced at the Mix Brazil film festival in 2005.
During that same year Doti-Producxionz produced a highly popular late night comedy talk show, Intimate Connexionz, hosted by well-known dancer and choreographer Somizi Mhlongo and co-hosted by his alter ego Madam Gigi. SABC 2 commissioned the show. We have also co-produced a documentary for the sex and secrecy slot for SABC 1 titled Black Beulah’s, which was accepted at the 2006 New York Gay and Lesbian film festival. Doti-Producxionz has also written a number of articles for the campus times magazine of which one was a feature story for the Yizo-Yizo 2 and music reviews for the same news paper and in 2006 an article for the ‘Mail and Guardian’ which focused on the short film Mountain Shade. In 2008 Doti-Producxionz, with Underdog and Out in Africa as co-producers, produced and directed a short film titled Beautiful Contradictions, which is intended to be a pilot for a feature film titled Rewind.
Our work in entertainment, event and project management is intended to build strong, positive and lasting relationships between the diverse cultural teams in our country through the universal language of entertainment and education (edutainment). We seek the opportunity to empower and enhance the South African community, while providing the very best in entertainment and education. Our aim is to produce creative, innovative, challenging and sometimes-controversial entertainment for South Africa and the world
